Mussaenda erythrophylla (Family Rubiaeae) is a tropical shrub plant, typically having red leaves at the shoot tips, which bear flowers. The species name 'erythrophylla' is a combination of two terminologies, which are "erythro" which means red like the colour of erythrocytes or red blood cell. The word "phylla" has something to do with plant. Hence the species name has to do with the red leaves and the red flowers that the plant possess.
