Ludwigia

The genus Ludwigia (Family Onagraceae) is composed of over 70 species of plants mainly occupying aquatic or wetlands. In Malaysia the species L. hyssopifolia is commonly found. The presence of Ludwigia adscendenshas also been reported. Sometimes the leaves attain bright-yellow colouration, indicating that the plant is infected with a germini plant virus.

Biological studies of Ludwigia spp such as anticancer studies of extract of Ludwigia octovalvis have been reported.
