Peacock-pheasant

Peacock-pheasant is a very colourful animal (bird) particularly the male bird. When excited the bird opens up the tail feather giving a specticular look. I cannot help but to wonder how do the simple genetic codes consisting of four nucleotides GATC, be translated in this colourful animal. To think about it deeply, the same four nucleotides can be arranged into different combinations to form different genetic codes that can be translated into human, tress, chicken, ants and bacteria!!!!

The female or peahen can easily be distingiuished from the male from its dull colour. Pictures below were take from the Kuala Lumpur Birdpark.
