Geodesic dome at Expo 67

The geodesic dome that formed a part of the American Pavilion at the 1967 Montreal Expo or Montreal World's Fair, was destroyed by fire on 20th May 1976. The incident occurred in the afternoon and lasted for about one hour. The  fire ate up the transparent acrylic shell, leaving the steel truss structure as a reminder of its existence. Much later a museum dedicated to the environment was built at the site, and it is called The Biosphere.
