Hydrangea macrophylla is a species of the Plant Family Hydrangeacea. It is a herbaceous plant with relatively large green leaves. The leaves are wide at tapering at both ends. The margins of the leaves are not smooth, but are generally serrated.
The species is native to China and Japan, but is now grown in many parts of the world as an ornamental plant. Typically, the flowers occur in clump and are bluish, but varieties can come with different colours of flowers.
