Caesalpinia pulcherrima

Caesalpinia pulcherrima (Family Fabaceae)  is a common landscape beautification plant found in many parts of the world. In Malaysia the plant can be found in recreational areas and public gardens. It is a woody evergreen plant with compound small leaves. The flowers are red with some yellowish areas on the petals. The stamens and the stigma have long stalks, i.e filaments and style. The common name is bunga merak, which means peacock flower in English.
